July 1st 2015 – Paris, France – UPMEM received founding and has been awarded in the category “young start up”, by the French minister of Research Mr. Thierry Mandon. Accelerator for young talents and innovation, i-Lab is the main place in France where the most promising innovative companies created within the year can be discovered and get some seeding support.
DRAM technology density is so important that we can integrate into midrange servers thousands of uPmem cores in standard slots DDR / DIMM. The massively parallel architecture implemented with an array of UPMEM cores delivers a performance gain of several orders of magnitude, for use cases such as pattern matching in large databases.
The potential of this technology is major because the speed up comes with only a minor adaptation of software application, and without any modification in the current architecture of servers. Several semiconductor and software global leaders already raised interest in UPMEM technology.
