Fabrice Devaux, CTO of UPMEM and co-founder will present the latest and greatest of Processing-In-Memory (PIM) at DATE conference, March 27th 2018, in Dresden – Germany.

The presentation will cover the technical challenges to be addressed to build a processor on a DRAM process (Transistors, routing, etc), but also the benefits of DRAM technology in term of density and cost.

The building block of PIM is combining a processor and a memory array, independent and fully programmable as a co-processor from the main CPU of the system. Thousands of PIM units can be combined in a single server, packaged on DIMM modules, delivering a significant processing power at high efficiency.
